We are having words fed to us so much, we don't see them change before our eyes, just by how they are used or portrayed by society and media...
Opposition always meant opposite sides, the fact that it can have positive outcomes and negative outcomes is life, but to have it start to appear so negative all the time (almost seems war like in political rings) when its origin meaning, represents people's places in life, opposite at times, does not always make it negative...
So, don't be spoon fed the definition of words based on opinions, use the word in the way it is seen by you.
