WOMEN AND THE WEB – MARCH 2026 🌸🕸️
An Inkfluence of Art / Women in Bloom Campaign
*Read the Comments - for the updated information on both Women and the Web and Matcha and Meditation
For too long, women have been expected to pay for confidence when it comes to technology
pay for support, pay for fixes, pay for “expert help” on things that should be basic knowledge.
This March, we’re changing that.
Inspired by Charlotte’s Web, Women and the Web is a month-long series where one word a day unfolds into a simple, practical tech tip—designed to help women (and anyone who needs it) understand everyday computer and technology care, maintenance, and small fixes that prevent bigger problems later.
No jargon.
No shame.
No upselling.
Just:
🕷️ one word
🕷️ one clear tip
🕷️ one way to build independence
Each post includes optional links to free, trusted resources so you can learn more if you want to—on your own terms.
Because knowledge shouldn’t be gated.
Because confidence shouldn’t be rented.
Because the web belongs to all of us.
🗓️ Starts March 1 - 31, 2026

Each day offers a moment of calm, creativity, and care — no pressure, no perfection, just presence.

Week 4 – The Web Holds
March 25 – “Private”
Tip: Use incognito/private mode when needed.
Why: Especially on shared devices.
Learn more: To use Incognito mode, simply open a new Incognito window in your browser, allowing you to browse privately without saving your history.
Opening Incognito Mode in Different Browsers
Google Chrome:
Method 1: Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select "New Incognito Window."
Method 2: Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows/Linux) or ⌘ + Shift + N (Mac).
Mozilla Firefox:
Click the three-line menu in the top right corner and select "New Private Window."
Alternatively, use the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + P (Windows/Linux) or ⌘ + Shift + P (Mac).
Microsoft Edge:
Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner and choose "New InPrivate Window."
You can also use the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows) or ⌘ + Shift + N (Mac).
Safari (on Mac):
Go to the File menu and select "New Private Window."
The shortcut is ⌘ + Shift + N.
Benefits of Using Incognito Mode
No Browsing History: Your browsing history, cookies, and site data are not saved after you close the Incognito window, providing a layer of privacy on shared devices.
Temporary Session: Each Incognito session is temporary, meaning once you close the window, all data from that session is deleted.
Limitations of Incognito Mode
Not Completely Anonymous: While Incognito mode prevents local data storage, it does not hide your activity from websites, your Internet Service Provider (ISP), or network administrators.
Tracking Still Possible: Websites can still track your activity through your IP address, and targeted ads may still appear based on your browsing habits.
Using Incognito mode is a great way to maintain privacy on shared devices or when you want to browse without leaving a trace on your local machine. However, it's important to understand its limitations regarding online anonymity.
