The value of the model is that it gives us a language for noticing what happens when a person becomes activated, when tension seeks movement, when rigid emotional or behavioral patterns are interrupted, and when the system searches for a more manageable state. In this framework, the word neuro points to nervous system involvement, and the word shake points to disruption, motion, discharge, or loosening. Together, they describe a process of disturbance and reorganization.

This lesson builds on earlier ideas without repeating them. The Stubbed Toe Theory showed how a small event can trigger a much larger reaction. Rubik’s Cube Memory Theory showed how emotional material can be layered, rotated, and reinterpreted. NeuroShake concepts add another dimension. They focus less on what the memory means and more on what the system does when pressure rises. Instead of asking only, what does this feeling represent, we also ask, how is this activation moving, where is it getting stuck, and what helps it shift toward regulation.

Activation can be understood as a state of increased internal charge. A person may feel restless, tight, flooded, agitated, numb but buzzing, emotionally overloaded, or mentally scattered. Activation is not automatically harmful. It is often a signal that the body and mind are mobilizing around something important. The problem begins when activation becomes trapped in repetitive loops. A person may circle the same thought, repeat the same reaction, or remain locked between tension and suppression. In creative practice, this can appear as rigid mark-making, avoidance of the page, compulsive overworking, or an inability to begin.

www.inkfluenceofart.com

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0833/2499/3846/files/Couseleaderhead-PsycTheory_42086a68-9160-4480-b664-4409e6dd5dc4.png?v=1791246722
https://inkfluenceofart.com/products/inkfluence-of-art-psychological-theory-lesson-3-5-neuro-shake-therapy-concepts-disruption-release-and-regulation
